Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 4 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 pkg rapid rise instant yeast

Preparation

Step 1

Heat milk water and butter in small sauce pan until butter is melted. Pour into bread machine and add egg, salt, sugar, flour and yeast. Select dough cycle. For long hot dog buns, divide into 12 pieces and roll each into a 4 x 6 rectangle. Fold over into thirds or roll up and pinch to seal edge and end. Place on sprayed pan, cover and let rise 30 minutes, until doubled. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees.

For hamburger rolls: Shape into 12 balls, place on greased sheet and flatten. Cover and let rise 45 to 60 minutes, until doubled. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes until golden brown.
