Ingredients
- Bottom Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 egg yolks, beaten
- 4 tbs. water
- Apple Pie Filling:
- 8 large tart apples, peeled, cored, and cut into thin pieces
- 2 tbs. lemon juice
- 2 tbs. flour
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tbs. butter
- Crumb Topping:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2/3 cup packed, brown sugar
- 2/3 cold cup butter, cut into small chunks

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Set aside 15 x 10 inch baking pan.
Crust:
Combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mis egg yolks and water togther and then stir into the flour until mixture forms a ball. Roll the dough to fit the bottom of the pan.
Apple Filling:
Combine apples, juice, 2 tbs. flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Dot with 2 tbs. butter.
Crumb Topping:
Whisk together the flour, cinnamon, and brown sugar until combined. Cut in butter with 2 forks until crumbly. Sprinkle topping over teh apples. Bake in a preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.
