Old Fashioned Baked Custard

By

Just plain, old, good, out of the past Mennonite guaranteed not to get watery, baked custard (that's what Aunt Mary says -- this was her recipe)

Can also use this for a custard pie

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Pour custard into casserole. Set casserole in a pan of warm water, about 3/4 of the way up sides. Turn oven down to 325.

Put custard into oven. Bake one hour; knife inserted in center should come out clean by then.

May be put into raw pie shell and baked same amount of time (without the water).
