Ingredients

  • 1 lb. roast beef
  • 1/2 small fryer
  • 3/4 lb. pork shoulder or loin
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped potatoes
  • 3/4 cups chopped onion
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup corn
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup canned milk
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. pepper
  • 2 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 cup hot water

Step 1

Put beef, chicken and pork in pan and cover with water. Cook at low boil until meat will slide from bone. Take meat up, saving broth and remove bones. Run meat through meat chopper. Add 1 cup hot water to broth and bring to slow boil. Add potatoes and onions and cook for 20 minutes, stirring with wooden spoon. Add corn, ketchup, tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes. Add 1 tsp. salt, meat, pepper, vinegar and remaining salt. Cook 10 minutes longer. Add butter and milk, pouring milk slowly. Serve hot. Makes approximates 1 gallon.
