Ingredients

  • Whiskey Sauce:
  • 1 ½ Pounds French Bread (Real hard crusted Bread)
  • 1 Dozed Eggs, beaten
  • ½ Pound Butter, melted
  • 6 ½ Ounces Evaporated Milk
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Cups Whole Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Mexican Vanilla
  • 1 ¾ Chopped Pecans (Toasted)
  • 1 Cup Butter, Softened
  • 1 Cup Confectioner’s Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Egg Yolk (beaten)
  • 4 Tablespoons Whiskey

Preparation

Step 1

Tear bread into pieces. Place in a 4 quart mixing bowl.
Add beaten eggs, butter, evaporated milk, sugar, whole milk,
vanilla and pecans. Mix well and pour into a 9 x 13 inch baking
dish.
Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven 25-30 minutes.
Serve warm with Whiskey Sauce.

Sauce:
Cream butter with electric mixer. Add powdered sugar
and egg yolk. Blend until smooth. Add whiskey a teaspoon
at a time, mixing well. Serve bread pudding hot,
and topped with this sauce.
