Ingredients
- 1 lb. round loaf sourdough bread, unsliced
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1-2 tsp. basil leaves, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 c. grated fresh Parmesan cheese

Step 1
Slice bread into 1 1/2 inch slices, cutting to but not through the bottom of the loaf. Slice again in the opposite direction (criss-crossing the first cuts), forming "breadsticks".
Place loaf on sheet of heavy-duty foil. Melt margarine; stir in basil and garlic powder. Drizzle margarine mixture between breadsticks and over the top of the loaf. Sprinkle with cheese. Wrap securely with double-fold seal.
Heat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is hot.
Or, place bread on barbecue grill. Heat 15-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is hot.
To serve, let guests pull "breadsticks" from the loaf.
