Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• ½ cup butter
• ¾ cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tbsp. whipping cream
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1¼ cups flour
• ¼ tsp. baking powder
• ¼ tsp. salt
• Coarse sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter and sugar, and then add the egg. Blend in cream and extract. Combine dry ingredients, add to the sugar mix, blending well. Shape into a flat ball and chill ½ hour. Roll on lightly floured surface, ¼ inch thick. Cut into a desired shape and sprinkle with sugar and bake until golden.
