Nana McDonald's Butter Tarts

Ingredients

• Pastry:
• 1 lb. shortening
• 1 cup boiling water
• 5 cups flour
• 2 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. salt
• Pour water over shortening. Mix it with wire wisk. Set at room temperature overnight. Then mix in remaining ingredients.
• Filling:
• 1 egg
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 3 tbsp. corn syrup
• 1 small tbsp butter
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 pkg. raisins
• Combine all ingredients. Beat until light and fluffy. Place a few raisins in the bottom of each tart shell, then pour filler over raisins. Bake at 425 degrees 12 - 15 minutes.
