Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Frosting:
  • ½ stick oleo
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 ¾ cup powder sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

1. Bring to a boil oleo, water, and cocoa. Mix sugar, flour, and salt. Pour cocoa mixture over flour mixture and mix well. Add eggs, sour cream and baking soda.

2. Blend well and pour into greased and floured jelly roll pan. Bake 20 minutes at 400°F.

3. Melt oleo, milk, and cocoa. Remove from heat and add powder sugar and vanilla. Beat slightly and when it begins to thicken a little, spread over top of hot cake.
