Ingredients

  • The Cookie:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • The Frosting:
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

To make cookies, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg. Combine and add the vanilla and flour. Mix until all ingredients are well blended. Chill dough 3 to 4 hours before rolling. Preheat oven to 350 F. Roll out and cut. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool.

To make frosting, melt butter. Combine all ingredients. Beat until smooth. Thin with milk if necessary.

Frost and decorate cookies with sprinkles or coarse sugar - or may be eaten plain. Enjoy!
