Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 1 3/4 sugar
  • 3 tbl cornstarch
  • 3 cup milk
  • 6 oz chocolate
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Cake:
  • 4 oz chocolate
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp (1 package pudding)
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

In saucepan whisk sugar and cornstarch. Add milk and whisk. Heat stirring constantly with wooden spoon. Simmer, add chocolate and cook for about 3 minutes.

Stir in vanilla. Pour in boowl and cover surface. Chill overnight or 4 hours).

Preheat oven to 350, use 8" cakepan.

Microwave chocolate and oil for 1 minute and cool.

In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, cocoa, pudding, baking soda and salt. In side bowl, beat butter and sugars. Add eggs. Add chocolate and vanilla. Beat flour mix into butter mix. Add buttermilk.

Place in a pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, and cool. Cut each cake in 1/2 horizontally, crumnble one layer and put aside. Frost remaining 3 layers, sprinkle top w/ crumbled layer.
