Ingredients

  • 5 lbs chicken thighs, bone in
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 pieces garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. fresh ginger or powder equivalent
  • 1/4 c. oil

Preparation

Step 1

Remove skin from thighs. Set aside.
Use oil to brown cleaned thighs in a pan. Mix remaining ingredients together. Put browned thighs and mixed sauce in pot and bring to a boil, then simmer on stove for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
OR skip browning and put in crock pot for 5-6 hours on high.
Make sure you turn chicken occasionally so all pieces get evenly soaked.
