Ingredients
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 egg yolks, lightly beaten
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Preparation
Step 1
In a heavy saucepan, combine cream, milk and sugar over medium heat. Cook just until mixture begins to steam and remove from heat. Whisk about 1/4 cup of cream mixture into egg yolks. Whisk yolk mixture into cream mixture in pan. Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly until mixture coats the back of a metal spoon. Remove from heat and cool completely. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into an ice cream maker and freeze following manufacturer's instructions.
