Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup melted margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup melted margarine

Step 1

In mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Make a well in the center. In another bowl beat egg slightly, stir in milk and 1/3 cup melted margarine. Add egg mixture to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened (butter will be lumpy). Lightly grease muffin cups. Fill cups 2/3 full with batter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile in shallow bowl combine the 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Immediately dip muffins into 1/3 cup melted margarine, then into cinnamon sugar mixture until coated. Makes 12.
