- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 teas. sugar
- 4 1/2 cup flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tab. water
- coarse salt

Step 1
Dissolve 1 pkg. of yeast in 1 1/2 cup of warm water (105-115) and add 1/2 teas. sugar. Then add 4 1/2 cup flour and knead dough for 6 minutes. Let dough rise, and covered, in a greased bowl until double. Divide dough into 12 pieces and shape pretzels. Blend together 1 egg yolk and 2 tab. water. Brush pretzels with mixture and sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake 450 for 12 minutes.
