This is a recipe that my Grandma Redling gave to me. This pie has such good flavor and the apples are very tender.

  • 4 1/2 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp butter
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Pie Crust

Step 1

Place the bottom pie crust into a 9" pie pan. Mix the apple slices, 1 1/4 cups sugar, flour, 2 tsp. cinnamon, and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Pour the mixture over the bottom pie crust in the pan. Place small pats of butter evenly over the apple mixture. Add the top pie crust and pinch the two pie crusts together to seal. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on the top of the pie crust. Cut slits into the top of the crust. Bake the pie at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour. Allow the pie to cool for 1 hour before serving.
