Ingredients

  • 4 Strips Bacon, chopped
  • 1 Medium Red Onion, chopped
  • 2 (28 oz.) Cans Pork and Beans
  • 1/4 Cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 Cup Spicy Brown Mustard
  • 3 Tbsp. Molasses
  • 1 (12 oz.) Bottle of Beer

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Chop the bacon into bite size pieces and cook in a large pot over medium heat until fat is rendered but the bacon is not yet crispy. Remove bacon.

In the pan with the bacon fat, cook the chopped onion until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Carefully transfer with a ladle to a 2-quart casserole dish. Place on a foil lined baking sheet and bake for one hour or until the beans are the desired thickness.
