Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter, room temp
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • pinch of cloves
  • 1.5 cups dark brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Line muffin tins with paper liners. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and spices.
With a mixer, cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour mix in two batches, alternating with milk. Beat well after each.
Scoop into cups, fill 3/4 full. Bake 15-18 minutes. Let cool.
Top with citrus glaze or cream cheese frosting.
