Taco Ring

This is a recipe that my sister-in-law made for one of our family reunions and it was a great hit!

Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 pkg taco seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 2 can crescent rolls
- 1/2 head lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 green pepper
- 2 - 3 Tbsp water
- 1 jar Taco Sauce OR Salsa

Step 1
Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Drain and add the water and Taco seasoning mix; Mix well. Mix the cheddar cheese into the seasoned meat. Lay the crescent rolls out on a flat stone (or cookie sheet), points facing out, slightly overlapping - in a starburst pattern. *There should be a 5" or 6" diameter hole in the center.* Spoon the meat mixture onto the inner part of the dough, then fold the pointed ends over, tucking them in underneath. Bake the ring at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 - 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Cut off the top of the green pepper, cut out the seeds, and fill the pepper with salsa or Taco Sauce. Serve the taco ring with the green pepper in the center and garnish with sour cream.
