Sesame Thumbprint Cookies


A Christmas favorite, this is a cookie that my Mom always made and now I make too.

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • sesame seeds
  • raspberry jam



Step 1

Cream butter and sugar together. Blend in vanilla. Add flour and salt and mix well. Shape into small balls and roll in sesame seeds. Place on ungreased cookies sheet. Indent centers with thumb or other the end of a wooden spoon. Fill centers with raspberry jam. Bake at 400 degrees 10-12 minutes or lightly browned.
