Preparation
Step 1
1. Brown turkey meat, garlic, onion, and taco seasoning in a non-stick skillet.
2. Put beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, wine, salt and pepper into the slow cooker. You can eyeball it, if you want it thicker add tomato paste, for a thinner chilli add more tomato sauce. Aim for the consistency you like.
3. Add turkey mixture.
4. Stir and set to low if you want to cook it all day, 4 hours on high if you want it sooner. It's already cooked so you are just heating it through and letting the flavors combine....
Recipe Tips
The thing about this recipe is that it is so versitle. You can add or omit anything that you like or don't like. Don't like a certain bean? Leave it out. I usually just go through my pantry and throw in whatever I have and it always comes out great!
Serving Suggestions
We like to add a little low fat cheese, or sour cream on top with some chopped onion.
