Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tea. onion powder
- 1/4 tea. salt
- 1/4 tea. pepper
- 3 lb. beef brisket
- 2 1/2 cups beef broth
- 3 Tbsp. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
- 3 dashes liquid smoke (optional)
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tbsp. white vinegar

Step 1
In small bowl, combine brown sugar Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt and pepper, Rub onto brisket ans place in slow cooker.
In a bowl, whisk broth, molasses, worcestershire, and, if desired, liquid smoke. Add to slow cooker. Slow cook on high for 6 hours or low for 8 hours,.
Carefully remove brisket and shred with 2 forks.
In a small bowl, combined 1/4 cup water, cornstarch and vinegar. Strain liquid in slow cooker into a saucepan and add cornstarch mixture. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook 3 minutes, until thickened and clear. Combine 5 cups of the sauce with the brisket in a large bowl. Let stand, covered, 15 minutes.
