Ingredients
- 6 cups water
- 1 cube chicken bouillon or granules
- 1 pound dried black-eyed peas, sorted and rinsed
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced
- 1 jalapeno chili, seeded and minced
- 8 ounces diced ham
- 4 slices bacon chopped
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1-1/2 tsp cumin
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp ground black pepper

Step 1
Pour water into slow-cooker. Add chicken granules and stir to dissolve. Add black-eyed peas and remaining ingredients and stir to blend. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours until peas are tender.
