Ingredients

  • 5 cups sliced, peeled cooking apples, pears, peaches, or apricots or frozen unsweetened peach slices

  • 2-4 tbsp sugar

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup flour

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg, ginger, or cinnamon

  • ¼ cup butter

  • ¼ cup chopped nuts or coconut

Directions

1)For filling, thaw fruit if frozen. Do not drain. Place fruit in a 2 quart square baking dish. Stir in sugar. 2)For topping, in a medium bowl combine the oats, brown sugar, flour, and nutmeg, ginger, or cinnamon. Cut in butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the nuts or coconut. Sprinkle topping over filling. 3)Bake crisp at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes or till fruit is tender and topping is golden. Blueberry crisp Prepare as above, except, for the filling, combine 4 tbsp sugar and 3 tbsp flour. Toss with 5 cups fresh or frozen blueberries.
