Ingredients

  • Directions:
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Karo
  • 1/2 c. water
  • Dash salt
  • 2 egg whites, beaten until stiff
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 c. pecans
  • Stir together sugar, Karo, water and salt.
  • Boil to medium ball stage (240 degrees)over medium heat; stirring constantly.
  • After bringing to medium ball stage, pour 1/3 of mixture over stiff egg whites in a large bowl; beating constantly.
  • Cook remaining syrup to hard ball stage; check for stringing.
  • Beat remaining syrup into egg white mixture until mixture holds shape.
  • Add vanilla and pecans; beat 3-5 minutes longer or until not shiny.
  • Drop on greased cookie sheet.
