Ingredients
- Directions:
- 4 T. bacon drippings
- 2-3 heaping T. flour
- 1 c. pealed, chopped tomatoes
- 2-3 c. cold water
- salt and pepper to taste
- Heat bacon drippings in heavy skillet; add flour, salt and pepper.
- Stir to mix and continue stirring until evenly browned (medium to dark brown, being careful not burn).
- Add tomatoes; stir quickly.
- Carefully add water.
- Reduce heat and cook until desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
