Strawberry BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
- 3-1/2 cups sugar
- 1-1/4 pounds strawberries -- capped and sliced
- 6 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 6 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce -- or more to taste

Step 1
Mix sugar, strawberries, vinegar, water, and black pepper in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat. Continue to cook at a slow boil for about 45 minutes or until thick. Remove from heat. Add ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce; mix really well. Yield 3 to 4 cups (about 20 servings).
