BUTTERMILK CARAMEL FUDGE 0 Picture

Ingredients

  • Directions:
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 T. white Karo syrup
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped
  • 1 T. butter
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • Mix sugar, Karo, buttermilk and soda in boiler.
  • Stir well; cook until forms medium-hard ball when dropped in cold water.
  • Add pecans, butter and vanilla; beat until cool and creamy.
  • Pour into well-greased platter.
  • Cut into squares when cooled.

Adding soda to sugar, Karo and buttermilk is what turns this to caramel.
