Easy to make and they freeze well for reheating. I like to take them out of the freezer, place them in the crockpot, and forget about them until we're ready for our evening meal.

Ingredients

  • Meat mixture:
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3 pounds hamburger
  • Sauce:
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Liquid Smoke

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine first eight ingredients. Crumble beef over the mixture and mix well. Shape into 1" - 2" size meatballs.

Place in 9" x 12" or larger baking pan(s). This recipe makes up to (2) cake pans of meatballs depending on the size of meatballs.

Dissolve sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs.

Bake uncovered 45-60 minutes at 350 degrees.
