Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint hard candies
  • 1/2 cup white sugar

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375.
In a large bowl combine butter, confectioners sugar, egg, almond extract & vanilla extract. Beat until smooth. Mix in the flour and salt. Roll into 4 inch strips, place in baking sheet.
Curve top down to form candy cane. Bake for 9-10 min.
While still warm sprinkle w/candy cane and sugar mix.

NOTE: use a little Karo light syrup in microwave & heat until very runny. Brush over cookes then sprinkle with candy cane mix.
