  • 3 Cups milk
  • 2/3 Cup uncooked rice
  • 1 Cup chopped, unpeeled apple
  • 1/4 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • Brown sugar (optional)
  • Ground Cinnamon (optional)


Preparation time 10mins
Cooking time 40mins


Step 1

In a heavy, large saucepan, bring milk just to boiling; stir in rice. Cook covered, over low heat for 30 - 40 minutes or until most of the milk is absorbed, stirring occasionally.

Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in apples, granulated sugar and vanilla. Spoon into dessert dishes. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
