Ingredients
- Lemon Glaze:
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/8 tsp. slat
- 3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
- Mix 1-1/2 cups confectioner's sugar, 2 T. plus 1 tsp. water and 1/4 tsp. lemon extract in small bowl. Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies. Let stand until set.

Step 1
Mix flour, cloves and salt in medium bowl; set aside.
Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg and lemon extract; beat until well blended. Stir in flour mixture. Divide dough in half. Form each into a log about 1-1/2 inches in diameter and 9 inches long. Wrap in wax paper.
Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Cut dough into 1/4-in thick slices. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 1 minute. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. Drizzle with lemon glaze, if desired.
