Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 tsp ground ginger
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter or shortening
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup boiling water

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
Grease 9in round or square pan. Sift together flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and molasses. Add flour mix and water. Beat until smooth.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
