Preparation

Step 1

Mash the potatoes, add the cheese, sour cream and powder. Place in 9 x 13 pan. Drizzle 1/4 c. melted butter on top. Sprinkle with some paprika. Cover the pan and refrigerate up to 3 days. Bake at 350 uncovered for 1 hour.

This is so great for the holidays. Can be made days earlier then pop in the oven. It fluffs up while baking. We love it.

Could add cooking, crumbled bacon pieces and shredded cheddar cheese for a twice baked potato taste.

Great for the holidays and it can be made days ahead. And it is so good! Fluffys up while it bakes. Always, always a hit.

AND YES, YOU CAN MAKE IT WITH LOW FAT SOUR CREAM AND CREAM CHEESE.

This recipe sounds very good. I make a similar version at the holidays. I fix them ahead of time and then, day of, when the ovens are going with other things, I put the potatoes in my crockpot on low 4-6 hours.....works great and frees up an oven.

Bless you for posting this recipe! I made something similar to this a couple of years ago on Christmas Eve and it was a pain to make with everyone there. This is fabulous because I can make it the days before!! Thank you! Can't wait to try it!!

Thanks for posting. I have a relative who makes these when we have a family gathering at her house. It is nice to make ahead, one less thing to rush with at the last minute! And they are wonderful! I would take it out of the refrig while the oven is warming so it's not super cold going in the hot oven.

I make this every year as well. I have never used the crock pot to warm but I may try that this year. For extra flavor, however, I do use onion & chive flavored cream cheese. No need to add anything else. Crumble bacon the top.
