New Zealand Holly Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp baking poweder
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2/3 cup rasberry jam
- 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 to 3 TBSP milk
- red cinnamon candies

Preparation
Step 1
In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder & 1/4 tsp salt. Cut in butter till pieces are pea sized. Make a wekk in the cneter. Combine egg & 1/4 cup milk. Add all at once to dry mixture. Stir until moistened.
On a lightly floured suface, roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 2 inches circles w/cookie cutters. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes or till light brown. Cool on wire rak. Place about 1/2 tsp rasberry jam on the bottom of 1 cookie. Top with another cookie.
In a small mixing bowl, stir together powdered sugar, vanilla & enough milk to make a glaze. Spread top of each cookie w/glaze. Paint holly leaves 7 use candy to decorate.
