Ingredients

  • Heart:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 T snipped dill
  • Newburgh Sauce:
  • 2 T oleo
  • 2 T flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 oz cream cheese - cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 T snipped dill
  • 2 T dry sherry
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 lb cooked shrimp
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms

Preparation

Step 1

1. Bring butter, water, salt to a boil - add flour all at once. Stir until mixture comes away from sides. Remove from heat and add eggs one at a time, beating well.

2. Spoon batter into large plastic storage bag. Snip 1 1/2 in. off corner of bag. Pipe batter unto greased baking sheet into heart shape.

3. Bake 45 min. (until golden). Remove from oven. Working fast make 6 (1/2) inch slits. Bake 10 to 15 min. longer

For sauce:
Melt butter. Stir in flour & cook until bubbly. Add milk all at once; stir until thickened

Stir in cream cheese; dill, sherry, shrimp. mushrooms - heat through

Fill heart w/Newburgh Sauce
