Ingredients
- 1c powdered sugar, sifted
- 1c margarine or butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 egg
- 2c all purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2c strawberry preserves or jam

Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 300F. In large bowl, combine powdered sugar and margarine or butter; beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, almond extract and egg; blend well. Add flour and salt; mix well. Drop dough by rounded tsp 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
2. With thumb or handle of wooden spoon, make imprint in center of each cookie. Fill with about 1/2 tsp preserves.
3. Bake at 300F for 20-25 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheets.
