Ingredients
- 2 lbs. round steak
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 4 tbs. cooking oil
- ¾ cup chopped onion
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. oregano
- ¼ lb. mozzarella cheese, grated

Step 1
Trim fat from meat and cut into serving sized pieces. Combine the breadcrumbs and Parmesan. Dip the meat into the egg and then in cheese mix. Brown both sides in 2 tbs. oil. Sauté onions in the remaining oil until tender, about three minutes. Stir in the tomato sauce, water, and seasonings and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Arrange meat in a shallow baking dish, cover with ¾ of sauce, spread with mozzarella and add remaining sauce. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes, until meat is tender.
