  • 2 c all purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 10 tblsp of butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 c grated hard cheese such as chddar, gruyer or parmesan
  • 2 to 3 tblsp cold water



Step 1

sift four and salt together in a medium bowl. cut in butter using a pastry blender or 2 knives until the mixture looks like fine bread crumbs.Stir in cheese, add water until the dough sticks together. Kneed dough lightly and form a ball, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 15 min before use or freeze up to 1 month.
