Ingredients

  • 1 small can (2/3 cup) evaporated milk
  • 1 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. (16 med.) diced marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract

Step 1

5-Minute Fudge
Mix in saucepan over medium heat:
1 small can (2/3 cup) evaporated milk
1 2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Bring to boil; cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. (Time when mixture starts to "bubble" around edges of pan.) Remove from heat.
Add:
1 1/2 c. (16 med.) diced marshmallows
1 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
Stir vigorously for 1 minute (or until marshmallows melt).

Pour into 8 inch square buttered pan. Sprinkle 1/4 cup coarsely broken peppermint candy canes over top of fudge in pan.
Let Cool.
Makes about 2 pounds.
