Ingredients

  • 2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/3 cup Oil
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups ap flour
  • 2 pkg yeast
  • 3/12-4 cups stirred whole-wheat flour

Preparation

Step 1

Combine milk, honey, oil, and salt. Heat until warm.
In large mixer bowl, combine ap flour and yeast.
Add warm milk mixture.
Beat at low speed for 1/2 minute, scraping constantly.
Beat at high speed, 3 minutes. By hand, stir in enough whole-wheat flour to make a soft dough. Turn out on
floured surface and knead till smooth and elastic.
Place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise until doubled, one hour. Punch down. Divide in half and use for:

Cinnamon Rolls
1/2 recipe whole-wheat sweet roll dough
2 Tablespoon butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup raisins
Confectioners frosting

Roll dough in 15x9" rectangle. Spread with butter and sprinkle with rest of ingredients. Roll up jelly roll style.
Cut in 12 slices. Place in 2-8" greased round pans.
Cover and let rise one hour. Bake 30 minutes at 375.
Ice wwith confectioners frosting.

Pecan Rolls:
1/2 recipe whole-wheat sweet roll dough
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/2 cup pecans
2 tablespoon soft butter
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed

Grease sides of 13x9x2" pan and pour in the melted butter. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar, syrup, and nuts to pan.
Roll dough into 15x9" rectangle. Spread with 2 tablespoon soft butter and 1/3 cup brown sugar.
Place rolls cut side down over pecan mixture.
Cover and let rise. Bake 30 minutes at 375. Turn pan as soon as it comes out of the oven. Let pan rest a few minutes before removing from pan.
