Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 lbs steak
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms sliced
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 3 c. beef stock
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 tsp each of dried thyme, oregano and basil
  • 1/8 tsp. allspice
  • 1 lb. yellow/red waxy potatoes quartered
  • 1 c. diced carrots
  • 1 c. pearl onions
  • 1/2 c. frozen peas
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1/4 tsp each of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder

Preparation

Step 1

Heat saute pan over med. heat and add 1 tsp olive oil. Season beef with salt and pepper and mix of spices (last ones on ingredient list). Sear the beef. Let rest for 10 minutes and slice into cubes.
Over med. high heat melt butter and add mushrooms, flour, stick, tomato paste, herbs, spices and meat. Cook 30-45 mins.
Add potatoes, carrots and continue to cook until al dente.
Add onions and cook 30-35 mins.
Stir in peas and parsley. Cook additional 20 mins.

Serve over egg noodles.
