Ingredients
- 1 L decent vodka (like Skyy)
- 6 large organic oranges (organic is important since zesting)
- 3.5 c. sugar
- 4.5 c. water
- cinnamon stick (optional)
- 10 cloves (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
1. Thoroughly clean oranges. Zest oranges with vegetable peeler, trying to avoid as much pith as possible.
2. Put zest, vodka, cinnamon stick (optional), and cloves (optional) in large enough container. Let sit covered for two weeks in room temperature.
3. In a saucepan, bring the sugar and water to a boil and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Allow the syrup to cool.
4. Strain the solids out of the vodka, and stir in the cooled syrup. Age in a cool, dark place for 3 months.
5. Store in a freezer after the aging is complete.
