Perfect Standing Rib Roast
Perfect Prime Rib and very easy!!!
- Do not add water. Do not cover. Do not baste.
- 375 45 15 Leave roast in oven, with the door closed. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR. Turn oven on again at 375 for another 45 mins. before serving. Let stand 15 mins before carving.
Note: For roasts 10-12 lb. leave in oven 60 mins at beginning and 60-90 mins at end for medium rare.
6-7 lb -- 50 min then 55-60 min medium or 50/50 medium rare.
To eat a large roast at 1:00--
8:00 take roast out to room temp
8:45 preheat oven to 375; Season roast and put on rack in pan
9:00 put roast in oven
10:00 turn oven off
11:15 Turn oven on to 375
12:45 take roast out of oven
1:00 carve and enjoy
Note: New ovens need less time cooking at end.
