Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 – 1 1/2 cups Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 3/4 - 1 cup Milk Chocolate English Toffee Bits

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, margarine, and egg yolk. Beat the mixture at a MEDIUM speed, scraping the bowl often, until the mixture is creamy. Reduce the speed to LOW; Add the flour. Beat the mixture until it is well mixed. Press the mixture evenly onto the bottom of an UNgreased, glass 9” x 13” pan. Bake the bars for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. *The bars will be soft.* Sprinkle the bars *IMMEDIATELY* with Chocolate Chips and let stand for 3 minutes. Swirl the chips with a frosting spreader or butter knife; Sprinkle with Toffee Bits. Cut the bars with a sharp knife and serve warm.
