- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk

Step 1
Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and butter as for a pie crust with a pastry blender. Save 1 cup of the crumbs for topping.
Step 3: To the remaining mixture, add the vanilla, eggs, and milk and mix well.
Step 4: Pour batter into an 8" x 8" square greased and floured baking pan. Sprinkle the reserved crumbs on top of the batter
Step 5: Bake for 50-65 minutes at 325 degrees until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cut into 9 equal servings. Double the recipe for a 9" x 13" pan
