Kringla
By Heather_D
This is my Grandma Redling's recipe. It is the Norwegian cookie recipe that my Grandma made for every holiday or family gathering. This is a little bit of my Norwegian heritage and I make a batch every year at Christmas time.

Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl, cream together the oleo, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla. Slowly add the flour, salt, buttermilk, sour cream, baking powder, and baking soda; Mix well. Cover and chill overnight. Roll the dough onto a floured dough board. Cut and roll the dough into 1" - 1 1/2" balls. Roll the balls into a 4" - 5" long pencil shape; Add flour to the board as needed. Shape the pencil shapes into figure "8" shapes or small cursive "e" shapes. Lay the shapes onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake the kringla at 400 degree Fahrenheit for 6 minutes.
**The kringla will burn easily so watch them closely!** The kringla are light brown in color when they are done. Serve the kringla with butter and enjoy!
