Smokey Burgers with Pineapple Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients
- BURGERS:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 tablespoon chipotle powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
- FOR SAUCE:
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup chopped pineapple
- 1 tablespoon coconut aminos
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds to garnish
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Preparation
Step 1
Let your meat come to room temperature and then mix your ground beef with all of the above smoky spice blend.
Go preheat your grill to medium heat.
Form your meat into 8 equal size patties and set on a plate while your grill comes to temperature.
Once warm, place your burgers on the grill and cook ~6 minutes per side or until you reach the level of doneness you desire. 6 minutes at 400 Degrees got me medium rare.
Once done let them rest for at least 10 minutes before serving and garnish with the sauce below.
SAUCE:
In a small saucepan, combine all of your ingredients except the sesame oil and simmer over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes or until most of the water has cooked off.
Place the cooked pineapple in a blender and blend until smooth
Add your sesame oil and blend until well incorporated and then use as a sauce for your burgers.
Notes:
You can cut this recipe in half by using 1lb ground beef and cutting all the spices in half
