Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Step 1

Melt butter or margarine in saucepan. Remove from heat; blend in sugar. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each. Add vanilla. Sift together flour and baking powder and add all at once. Stir to mix thoroughly. Gently stir in chopped nuts. Turn into greased 13" X 9" X 2" pan. Spread dough evenly with spatula. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not over bake. Cool.

Drizzle with a glaze if you like:

Blend 1 Tablespoon warm milk and 1/8 teaspoon vanilla into 1/2 cup confectioners sugar.
