Beer Batter Bread
Try different herbs for variety!
- 3 cups self rising flour
- 4 TBs sugar
- 2 TBs fresh herbs (choice of rosemary, thyme, chives) or 1 TB dry herbs
- 1 bottle (12 oz) beer
- 1 TB olive oil + additional for brushing top and coating stoneware
Brush inside of 9" round stoneware bowl with olive oil.
In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients. Add beer and 1 TB olive oil and mix just until combined.
Transfer dough to cold stoneware bowl and brush with olive oil.
Place dough in cold oven, uncovered.
Set oven to 350 and cook for 50 min.
Remove from oven and let stand for 10 min.
Turn bread out on wire rack to cool.
